Place Trajectories – Analysing Socio-Demographic Dynamics on Three Spatial Levels
with Rachel Franklin, Cyril Geistlich & David Kaufmann
27. May , 9:00 – 12:00
Please register for the workshop here.
Socio-demographic changes happen everywhere, but they are not the same everywhere.
In what ways do fertility, ageing, migration, urbanization, and the economy shape demographic transformations on a large scale level? How can machine learning be used to analyse relocation behaviour on a national scale? And what shape do socio-demographic transformations take at the very local level, when considering gentrification and displacement?
This research workshop will provide insights into analysing socio-demographic transformations and relocation on three spatial scales: Europe, Switzerland, and Zurich.
Special emphasis will be on data and methodology: Participants will learn how methods of GIS and machine learning are used to capture demographic dynamics.
